Sania Mirza divorce confirmed
Indian tennis legend Sania Mirza released an official statement on 21 jan 2024 confirming her divorce from Pakistan cricket star Shoaib Malik.
The announcement came just a day after Malik’s marriage to popular Pakistani actress Sana Javed. Sania, who has traditionally kept her personal life private, shared that she and Shoaib had been divorced for a few months.
The statement wished Shoaib well in his new journey and requested privacy during this sensitive time. Rumours about their separation had been rife , but both players had not addressed the rumors until now.
Malik had recently announced his marriage to Sana Javed on social media, and the actress later sealed the news of the union by changing her name to Sana Shoaib Malik on Instagram.
The couple was previously seen together at their son Izhaan Mirza Malik’s 5th birthday in Dubai, and Malik had publicly praised Sania’s achievements in 2023 after her final Grand Slam match.
