MPIN Meaning 2024:
The introduction of IMPS in 2010 increased the volume of mobile banking transactions even more. The convenience and speed with which funds can be transferred and received has led to the expansion of mobile banking. Mobile banking, unlike internet banking, does not always require an internet access. Without even knowing the beneficiary’s account number or IFSC code, funds can be sent to a beneficiary’s account by SMS. To transfer payments, the sender only needs the beneficiary’s MMID code.
Mobile banking has progressively grown in popularity since its inception in 2008. The rise of mobile banking appeared to boost the RBI’s aim to digitise retail purchases in India, which has one of the world’s largest smartphone populations.
